Jake and Callum Robinson 2 Australian Suffers Missing in Punta San Jose

Jake and Callum Robinson, two Australian brothers, along with their friend Jack Carter Rhoad, set off for a surf trip in Northern Baja, Mexico. However, they haven’t been heard from since April 27th. Their worried mother revealed they were camping near Punta San Jose but failed to check into their Airbnb in Rosarito as planned.

“They have not contacted us since April 27th,” the mother of the Robinson brothers said. “They are traveling with another friend; an American citizen.”

The boys were hunting for waves about two hours south of Ensenada, camping at Punta San Jose at a familiar spot known as “Lighthouse”.

What has their family said?

The two brothers’ mom, in a statement to an Australian news outlet, said they were to camp and surf south of Ensenada for a few days before driving up the coast and staying at an Airbnb in Rosarito. The Robinson brothers’ mom became concerned when she could not contact her sons and when the Airbnb host reported that they never checked into the house.

Furthermore, Jack Rhoad — the San Diegan friend of the brothers — never made it into work as he was scheduled to earlier this week, which seemed to confirm he was missing alongside the brothers.

Jake and Callum Robinson Update

Mexican police are working with American and Australian authorities to locate the trio and arrest those responsible. On Thursday night, the authorities involved in the investigations say that three people have been arrested by local police under suspicion of foul play in the case of the missing surfers. One of the suspects had the missing persons’ phones in their possession, plus a bag of methamphetamine. The missing crew’s pick-up truck was also found burned and abandoned on the side of the road near the campsite. According to this report, blood marks and teeth were found near one of the tents.

Do Police Consider the Jake and Callum Robinson Missing Part of Mexican Cartel Activity?

The police have not explicitly said that the case is part of Mexican cartel activity. Locals, however, claim there has been heated up cartel activity in the region and areas around Punta San Jose.
